The Long Term Care Health Information Managers of Washington are committed to promoting excellence in the management of health information in the long term care field for the benefit of residents and providers.

As the profession responsible for the management of health information, we serve our members and those who create health information by:

  • designing, implementing and expanding programs that support and enhance the  ability of those who work with long term care health information; and
  • influencing governmental, educational, social and business issues which impact the management and use of health information in long term care at the local, state and federal level.

We are committed to the:

  • creation and utilization of systems and standards to ensure quality health information in long term care;
  • achievement of member excellence;
  • development of a supportive environment and provision of the resource to advance the profession;
  • provision of the highest quality of educational services to members and health care information users; and
  • investigation and application of new technology to advance the management of health information in long term care.

  • balance of resident privacy rights and confidentiality of health care information with legitimate uses of data;
  • quality of health care information as evidenced by its integrity, accuracy,      consistency, reliability, and validity; and,
  • quality of health care information as evidences by its impact on the quality of health care delivery.
